Our Sirona CEREC CAD/CAM Digital System designs and mills a porcelain restoration — dental crown, inlay, or onlay — in about an hour, without needing to come back for a second appointment or having to wear a temporary restoration.
What is CEREC®?
Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics or CEREC® uses CAD/CAM technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. A tooth is prepared then scanned using a digital Sirona scanner. A porcelain restoration is then milled from a porcelain block on a digital milling unit. Once the porcelain restoration is ready it is cemented in.
What is an Inlay or Onlay?
nlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings that specifically fit the size and shape of the cavity. Our dentists will recommend an inlay or onlay if you have significant tooth damage too large for a filling but not enough to justify a crown.
